Project Clean

This was the first of our new projects focusing on improving the infrastructure of our shelter. Every decision we take is aimed at improving the quality of life of each animal and one of the best ways to do this, is to provide hygienic living conditions.

As much as we all would like to see the animals in shelters running around in grassed runs and natural environments, it simply is not practical. With so many animals in close proximity and with sand and grass being nearly impossible to disinfect, it is only a matter of time before illness takes hold.

This is exactly what happened in our cat runs, but thanks to the amazing support of volunteers and staff we were able to concrete these runs and will now commit to an aggressive bio-security program that will see the end of typical illnesses commonly found in cat runs.

Without the support of Dr Fred and Marilyn McCreedy and of course Vivienne Jones who networked this project, none of this would have been possible. FORA thanks you and every single kitty thanks you!
